We’re approaching the end of June and it’s heating up in London, and I’m happy to report that we’ve had some very positive changes happen over the last month.
The most obvious, and the one that I’m most proud of, is that books are now available in a physical form from Amazon.
At the moment, Minus Epsilon and Defiant Order are both available for sale, with more on the way just as soon as I can get the text converted to the correct form for print, and get covers sorted out. After that, proof copies must be ordered, and only then, can I launch the next book.
The whole process is roughly 2/3 weeks per book. Not fast. I hope to have books 3 & 4 available shortly, then 5-7 up with some luck by the end of the month.
Once the Earth Saga Series books have been sorted out, I’ll start tackling the standalone books, and hopefully have them available by the end of August.
On the writing front, I’ve wrapped up the 4th Standish novel, and I’m now plowing away on the 2nd Rescue novel. Standish 4: The False God is due out in 2023, while the 2nd Rescue book isn’t due until 2024.
On the editing front, I’ve finally gotten through the first round of red-pen edits on the 8th book in the Earth Saga series, due out in October. It’ll be a mad push to get this to the editor by August, but it’ll have to happen.
Perhaps most exciting of all, the first book in the Rescue series is due out in July. I’m still waiting on cover art, but this novel, the first of many, is hopefully an action packed crowd pleaser.
On the entertainment side of things, I’ve seen Top Gun Maverick 3 times, and I think it’s a bundle of fun. Some great action sequences, decent plot, and a worthy successor to the first film. I’d recommend it for anyone who hasn’t already seen it.
With travel chaos in the UK scheduled for the entire summer, my plans are solely devoted to work, work, and work. I do have one out of town excursion planned, but that’s more business than pleasure. Hopefully we have a good Wimbledon tournament, and the temperatures stay warmer than cooler.
With any luck, we’ll be releasing the Rescue book one in the next month, and I’ll be able to get all the edits complete on the 8th book in the Earth Saga series done on time for my editor.
